Hmm... Work camp sounds nice. Summer holiday is almost over and school year is waiting... But Scandinavian car guys who came to US, stays there forever... I think my wife has a different opinion of that matter.

What do you think if I´d put a 304 under the hood? Can AX15 handle that? Does original 119 TC work?
I have a chance to buy a 304, so...

They are rare here in Finland, 360 is more common (I have 4 of them). But it is too big, according to finnish law, for Eagle. Motor can be 20% larger than original used in that body. Eagle and Hornet (and Concord) uses same body shell as you all know. But here in Finland they are totally different cars! So Hornet 360 can´t be used when you calculate new engine cubics...  (Volvo 244 and 264 are also totally different cars, even if 244 has a six cylinder engine like 264 has...) (But all Chevy Bel Airs are the same or ford F-150´s. From 50´s to present!)

I don't think anyone here has a problem with that!

With all the attention deprived eagles in the states you could do rust repairs until you die!

That is done really weird laws with the engines sizes...had never heard of that before.

Do motor inspectors know the difference between a 304 and a 360? :police:  This thread is great! It is the first one I look for when I check out the Nest. I wish I had the talent and ambition you have.

a quick look and they should - I beleive it is cast pretty visable on the block, though I get your point - 304-401cu.in. are all externally the same.

Rear doors are almost done...

Concord door needs just a little bondo...

Left front door needs more TLC... unfortunately this is the best I have... I found fiberglass body filler and some rust...

When one changes motor, you must self show to inspector what new motor is. Needs paper work or such. AMC is easy because of those casted numbers.... If car uses unleaded fuel and is considered as low-CO2-car, you need a document that shows that new motor is as clean (or cleaner) as the original was. That is because of European Union directives... That document comes from importer or factory... How about AMC... dead brand. You can´t use AMC´s in newer cars... And in some cases you need a more documents from manufacturer that THEY accept that new motor. In many EU countries they have never heard about that, but here in Finland everything that comes from Brussels (EU capitol) is like words of God... And then here are some "home made" rules... If you buy a new non-EU vehicle that is not made for european markets ( Mustang for example) you have to buy new lights and glassware which have been approved by finnish road test organisation!! That is only in Finland... not in any other EU-country... But if you have lived in another country and you move back to Finland and car comes with you, it can be like it was... Just get finnish license plates... That is Finland...

I haven´t been in my garage for a while... Yesterday I started to fix right rear side window... RUST...

Here are pics of this taiwan made front fender, and how "well" it fits...

Take good look at the lower corner and the gap where lamp bezel will be. I had to cut and weld the corner near windscreen, it didn´t fit at all. It is still a little different from the other.

Here is the original version... all fits nicely

Sanding the hood... That white stuff (I don´t believe it is paint...) is hard as a rock... Takes a lot of time and sanding discs.  :banghead:
