Title: '82 4 door sedan project for sale in So. Cal
Post by: rollguy on January 18, 2013, 09:34:05 PM
I have decided to sell my '82 4 door sedan project, as I don't have the time to work on it.  Please read the thread and view photos:

I have not done anything with it since it arrived.  I am willing to sell the 4.0 liter engine and computer separately.  It would be nice to see this Eagle finished and "flying" again.  PM Rich or email: [email protected]

I sold the engine a few months ago, so just the car and parts are for sale.  I moved the car across the street at my father-in-law's house before summer, hoping to work on it (much more room), but it has gotten cold now.  Also with standard time, it is dark in the evenings and the lighting in the garage is not all that great.

It gets below freezing at night here in the winter.  The high desert is at 3,500 foot above sea level.  With the time change, it is dark at 5:00 pm, so no work can be done in the cold and poorly lit garage...Rich

I am old.  Cold sucks!  Why do I stay in Iowa????  For the grandkids, of course.

Yep me too. I have tried for years to convince the wife we need to move to Arizona. Its no use she won't leave the grandkids. But then again I wouldn't either. But the warm weather all year long would sure be nice. Could do without the snow also.

Rafe- you get a gold star for paying attention! (or in this case an egg or whatever this board calls it).

Would you believe it if I told you I worked on the sedan today?   It was such a nice day today, and I was already working at my father-in-laws house (installing a dog door), that I took an hour and tinkered with the car a bit. I was able to install the dash and the door weatherstrip.  I have to say that I am very happy that all the parts and pieces are all marked and in bags or boxes. Also, there was new door weatherstrip, window channel, window wiper strips, and rear window provided.  It may not take as long as I thought it would to put the car back together, and therefore I may not sell it.  The more I work on it, the more I am liking it!   This may just turn into a build thread instead of a for sale thread.  Photos to come next time I work on it...Rich

Would love to see you get it back together rollguy! Sounds like the organization of the PO may help you change your mind about selling. Here's to hoping you have more nice days this winter in CA! :)
Title: Re: '82 4 door sedan project for sale in So. Cal (AGAIN!)
Post by: rollguy on August 31, 2015, 04:56:58 PM
I may have a possible relocation in the near future, so everything has to go.  I am back to selling my sedan project.  There has been some work done since I got it, and it is stalled on window switch wiring. Once the wiring is done, the door panels can go on. Other than that, the front and rear glass can go in, all plastic trim and bumpers.  The interior is pretty much finished.  A good days work will get the car back on the road, not including painting of the plastic parts (fender flares, rocker covers etc.).  I would like to at least get my money back ($1,700) if possible.  Please PM if interested.  Thanks, Rich

It is bittersweet to see it go. I would have liked to keep it an finish it, but I have other interests right now, and need the money. I am sure I will get another Eagle someday....Rich

Finding a good forum was step one in restoring a car such as an Eagle.   not alot of them out there and seems like even less info.   Ive been restoring a 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente and its kind of in the same boat, although mechanically there is plenty of resources on that car.

I really like those Comet Calientes!  Would be great to see some pictures of it as you're restoring it!

ill stick some pics on in a photo bucket album so you can scroll through them.   got the caliente when i was 15 as my first car.   currently have the engine out as i had to notch the shock towers and change it over to rack and pinion steering to clear some repop 289 hipo exhaust manifolds and i got a little carried away welding up unnecessary holes.
