A first for me, two Spirits at the pick n pull
« on: December 15, 2013, 08:04:44 PM »
I haven't seen any AMC in the junkyards I check in over a decade, but this morning I checked the inventory online at my local pick n pull like I always do and there were two spirits listed!

Went today and pulled a pile of stuff, probably more than I will need but I was so excited to see them!

One is an 82 with a 258 auto the other is an 81 iron duke 4 speed, both have over 250k on the clock and lived tough lives for sure

Both had busted hood releases and the pick n pull people busted both grilles getting the goods open, grrr

One of then had 4 perfect bumper end caps , so I got all of those, got two headlight buckets, two more there, two headlight surrounds were good, three clear markers in good shape, nice tan package shelf, two good dome lights.
Filled up the back of my eagle, with stuff

There is a more there if someone wants me to look, it's was freezing cold today i will be going back probably Tuesday afternoon, lots of stuff for eagles on these cars, and neither were, rusty at all

Nice score Rob!  You never know when those AMCs are going to show up.

I assume both of the Spirits were the hatchback style, not the Kammback style.  Sounds like you checked out all the good stuff.  How about the rear marker lights?  Those are rare, but rarely in good shape.

I could use a drivers side headlight bezel...though I am hoping to grab one locally so I don't have to pay shipping. Sure wish the grills weren't busted as I'd love a Spirit grill! Oh well. Good scores! Either have black interior? How were the sun visors? I'd love a set of good prods at least for those visors. Both of my feet for the visors are cracked and broken!

All 4 of the round marker lights were cracked or busted

I will check on the sun visor things, I did look at them when I was there, I will let you know

@VanGremlin they were both hatchbacks, no Kammys

I my snag one of the hoods and a front fender to replace the ones I used off my parts Sprit, funny replacing parts on a parts car!

Cool! That would be great. I know I've seen metal visor arms/feet too. Not sure if they were from an AMC though. Might have been a Ford or Jeep thing. All I know is mine are pretty busted!

Some were metal, some were not.  Not sure when or why.
