88 woody-warning - lots and lots of pictures
« on: May 07, 2012, 10:11:09 PM »
With sadness I must sell my Eagles.  I am no longer physically able to perform the upkeep required to maintain any 24+ year old vehicle in daily driver condition.

This 1988 AMC Eagle is daily driver quality.  It would be a daily driver except I have too many daily drivers to drive daily.

Located in central Arkansas.
$2500.
Papal, please.  We can work out a deposit and storage for a limited time with the buyer.

Arkansas does not have vehicle inspections.  The lucky buyer will be responsible for inspections.

If the buyer wants it transported we will help load it but cannot arrange shipping.
We may be able to deliver it within a few hours of Little Rock.

Bought with about 95,500 miles December 2005.
We bought it on eBay in Philadelphia and drove it home to Little Rock.
Now has about 127,000 miles so all repairs and upgrades have been made within the last 32,000 miles.

Belts and hoses have been replaced as necessary.

Amceaglenest forum Eagle of the Month, May 2009.

At 112000 miles the transmission and torque converter were rebuilt.
The instrument cluster wiring behind the dash was replaced.
Upper ball joints, lower control arm bushings, tie rod ends, pitman arm, idler arm, thrust rod bushings, steering damper replaced.  The boot on one upper ball joint tore early on.   I keep grease in it to keep out the dirt.
Front and rear springs replaced, new front shocks and new rear coil over shocks.
Newer 3 core radiator.
Exhaust manifold/gasket, power steering pump and hoses replaced, though there may be an exhaust leak somewhere below the carb.
Cat back exhaust including Dynomax muffler.
Fuel pump.
Timing set and valve cover gasket replaced at 125000.

Motorcraft 2150 carb and all the modifications that implies.
ECM bypassed for bench testing.
40,000v Petronix coil, oversized distributor cap with adapter, 8 mm plug wires, newer plugs gapped to .045.
Newer ICM.
It starts and runs well and does not use oil.
If it sits several days without starting it will develop a coolant leak.  I have not located the source.  It does not seem to leak if driven regularly.
Right front has been damaged and some parts replaced from other vehicles, including grill from Concord.
All power windows work.
Power door locks: driver works all the time, front passenger and rear driver sometimes, and rear passenger never.
Rear wiper works.  Rear defroster partially works – middle of the grid works.  Some wires have been repaired and the others probably could, as well.
Rear washer does not work.  New washer pump included.
Aftermarket Blauplumptk with AM FM CD player works.
Cruise control works.
Good P215/65/R15 tires.
American Racing Outlaw II wheels.
Brake job: master cylinder, flexible hoses and one metal line, new rotors and drums, pads and shoes, wheel cylinder kits replaced at about 108,000 miles.
Heater core has been replaced.
AC works; it has been upgraded to R134.  Compressor replaced.
Heater works.
Frame has been repaired in front, both sides.  I tried to get pictures but they don't show very well.
There is surface rust.  The only rust through I know about is in the spare tire well.  The floors are solid.
Spare and jack are included.
The windshield is good, with no cracks or chips.  It has been replaced and does not leak.
Some door strikers have been replaced with bushing-less posts.
Half shafts have been replaced with new.
Front wheel bearings have been replaced since we have had the Eagle.
Wood grain vinyl has been replaced.
New ac evaporator.
Sylvania Performance headlights.
Hand painted mudflaps have survived long enough and enough weather to make me think they will last much longer.
Good cargo cover retracts.
Good cargo area carpet.
Very good interior, including headliner, seats, dash, etc., - and an intact hood release!
