Title: t150 question
Post by: biggsimmons on March 24, 2011, 06:09:26 PM
anyone out there ever tried running a t150 3spd behind a 304, any guesses on wether it will hold up or not?

They had them in Jeeps, but 2nd gear goes out too easily due to no center support.

They're stronger then the T5, and I'd bet if a T5 can live behind a 4.0, a 150 T can live behind a 304 if it's a mild engine. It probably depends more on how you drive it.

Its much the same as the T-14 and the 14 was used behind 304s. Has an iron case. : )

T5 doesn't live well behind 4.2 with carb.
Mayaswell go with AX-15

In fact, I believe 304 Gremlins/Hornets used the 150T in 1975-76.

2nd gear tends to go out if you push it hard though. Even my '75 Pacer had one.
