Title: shifter handle
Post by: 84woody on October 19, 2014, 08:56:04 PM
I want to remove my floor shifter handle to tighten up the linkage and repair the indicator light.
I don't see any screws holding the handle in place. Any ideas.
84 eagle auto with floor shifter.
Thanks in advance.

Hold the knob in and tap upwards under the handle.

Gonna try tapping up on the handle. Don't see any visible screws anywhere. Thanks for the tip.

I'm not quite clear on exactly what you're trying to do, but it may be easier to remove the shifter from the linkage and pulling the whole unit out rather than just taking off the handle.  Good luck!
