My Eagle! 1985 wagon
« on: August 21, 2011, 11:14:58 PM »
Hello all, awsome site!  I am the new proud owner of a 1985 amc eagle wagon, 4.2 with only 126000 miles.  Of course it needs a bit of help.  I already ordered a new valve cover as the ol' plastic bleeds oil like crazy.  Also I need to find some parts.  The Carb was replaced with a motorcraft, with a rinkydink air cleaner I would like to replace.  Also I need to figure out the kickdown linkage, but that is for another post-department.   Thank you in advance for advice!  Pics coming soon

Oh I will be asking for help!  But I will try to post in appropriate areas...  Also not sure how to post pictures without photobucket... So here is a pic I took this morning.  I think it is real decent looking for its age.  I have been told everything from "awsome car!" to "you paid what for that ugly thing?".  To each their own I say, I like this car..

Nice eagle, love the color. Looks like you have the Roof rack delete??
I Don't know why. But everybody's always talking about their STI or That guys EVO, I think I'll stick with my old, but reliable AmC. Did I ever tell you I was Full blooded Eagle?

Usually there is one...  was one...  Unless it came from the factory without one.

all the wagons I see have roof racks.

They're so common I had assumed they were standard equipment.  Someone will probably let us know soon.

and there's no sign of a roof rack ever being there??   I gotta say, that's a first for me.

I mean I'm sure you could ask for one from the factory without a roof rack, I've just never seen one that didn't come with one.  I would consider anyone buying a station wagon is looking for cargo space, and would want a roof rack.

Interesting...
